SSC CGL 2017 Vacancies
Approximately 14 lac students appear for the SSC CGL Exam every year. In the Year 2016 there were 4000 to 5000 vacancies announced initially by the department. However the number of vacancies was increased to 9000. This year there is an expectation that there would be around 30,000+ vacancies. So students are requested to start their preparation as soon as possible.

What is SSC CGL 2017 Exam Pattern?
The ssc cgl 2017 exam pattern will be same as previous year 2016. In 2016 SSC CGL conducted the examination in four stages –

Important Points :-
- SSC CGL Tier 1 & Tier 2 will be conducted online.
- Reduction in time limit – Tier -I from 120 minutes to 75 minutes.
- No changes in Tier 2 Examination.
- Descriptive paper of 100 marks within 60 minutes in pen and paper mode.
- There will be NO sectional cutoff.
What is the Syllabus for SSC CGL 2017 Exam?
There are a total of 4 tiers in SSC CGL Examination. So here is the syllabus of ssc cgl 2017 exam –
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Syllabus
There will be 4 section in Tier-I and each consisting of 25 questions and of 50 Marks each.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Syllabus
Online exam will be conducted for Tier-II and of Objective type. The number of questions and maximum marks are as follows –

- Paper-I and Paper-II will be compulsory for all posts.

SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Syllabus
There will be Descriptive Paper in Tier-III in order to test the writing skill of the students. It will be conducted Offline and candidates are requested to do practice of Essay/Letter/Application.
- The duration of the exam is of 60 Minutes and having a total of 100 Marks.
- Exam type is qualifying in nature.
How to prepare for SSC CGL Exam 2017?
The exam preparation for SSC CGL must be done in a systematic order and as per the latest syllabus. Right study material should be selected and the students should practice by joining Online Test Series. Prefer more and more practice of the previous year questions.

How to apply online for SSC CGL 2017?
The online application for cgl 2017 will begin soon after the release of official notification. Although the last date for online application for SSC CGL 2017 is 16th June 2017.
SSC CGL Application Fee
The application fee for SSC CGL is ₹ 100.
Exemption – No examination fee are to be paid by female, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates
SSC CGL Admit Card 2017
SSC CGL 2017 admit card/call letter/hall ticket will be available for download for those candidates who have applied for the examination before the last date.
The download link for admit card will be soon activated after the release of admit card.
When will SSC CGL Result 2017 announced?
Staff Selection Commission (Government Of India) will release the result after the completion of each Tier-I/II/III/IV. The direct link of the official websites of all the zones of SSC will be made available as the results are announced.

What is SSC CGL Syllabus 2017 for Tier 1
Tier-I of the Examination:
(A): General Intelligence & Reasoning:
It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern folding & unfolding,
Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other sub-topics, if any.
(B): General Awareness:
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
(C): Quantitative Aptitude:
The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons , Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart
(D): English Comprehension:
Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. The questions in Parts A, B, & D will be of a level commensurate with the essential qualification viz. Graduation and questions in Part C will be of 10th standard level.
NOTE: Part C (Quantitative Aptitude) of Test booklet for Tier-I and Paper-I (Quantitative Abilities) of Tier-II will contain separate set of Questions for VH candidates only, (who have opted for assistance of scribe) which will not have components of Maps, Graphs, Statistical data, Diagram, Figures, Geometrical problems. However, components of other papers will be the same for other candidates.

SSC CGL 2017 Answer Key
